In this construction project, Vaagen was contracted to handle the mass timber work. The main contractor, Rimmer & Roeter (R&R), enlisted the assistance of Veksel to contract Foust to erect the building. Since R&R lacked local connections for this task, Foust worked directly under them. Our role was to facilitate the deal and leverage our experience. Coordinating “just in time” deliveries of mass timber posed a significant challenge due to site location and constraints. The entire building, including Glulam columns and beams as well as Cross-Laminated Timber (CLT), was constructed using wood. Veksel procured custom metal hardware for all attachments, while Foust handled the construction of the custom hardware.
